Pastor Dwayne and his wife Cecilia have been married since 2003 and have 4 children. They live in the West Rogers Park neighborhood and are excited about being a part of what God is doing throughout the community. Dwayne grew up in the city of Miami and by sixth grade he had been arrested twice. He was quickly headed down the road of juvenile delinquency until he came to Christ at the age of 13. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute and joined the staff at New Life in 1998.
The first two chapters of Luke tell the story of the birth of Christ from a historian's perspective. A common thread of Joy rings throughout the first two chapters! The second part of this Advent series focusses on the Joy Mary felt when she saw that confirmation of what the Angel had told her was true. She had most likely been through the wringer of pressure... But her faith in God's promises helped her perceive her circumstances through faith and it brought her great joy!
Sometimes God works in unfathomable ways. God used a hard hearted rebel prophet to lead one of the greatest revivals of all time. What God could do with your life is equally unfathomable!
Jonah was one of the all time great runners... in the wrong direction! He was running from God only to discover you can run from God, but you can never outrun God. Inside all of us is desire to run from the uncomfortable places God calls us.

In Matthew 6, Jesus taught that our eyes bring either light or darkness into our lives. How we see our religious deeds, our treasures, and life’s necessities can be a component of Jesus mission or a competitor against it. Jesus taught his disciples to see God as Rewarder of secret giving, as Master of our treasure, and as Provider of our needs. As we learn to see God this way, we can trust His provision, seek first His Kingdom, and be effective as agents of change.
It has been said, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." This is definitely true with our finances. Many of us feel like we could never get a grasp of where all our money goes. The Creating a spending plan workshop will definitely give you a great strategy in how to tell your money where to go instead of wondering where it all went. This workshop will take place at Cafe El Meson at 6624 N. Clarks Street. Watch a trailer at https://vimeo.com/86837571
Our annual Men’s Retreat is coming up March 4-5 at Camp Wonderland. You will experience powerful times of worship, teaching, and men's fellowship. There are two tracks available. The Encounter track is for first time attenders. This track is focused on the freedom of salvation, freedom from sinful strongholds, freedom from the poison of unforgiveness, and freedom to start new cycles of righteous living through Jesus’ power. You will be challenged to take bold steps to become the man that God has created you to be. The Empower Track is for returning guys: This is focused on gaining a vision and plan to become the leaders God has called His sons to be. This track will challenge men to be disciplined God-seekers, growing in a life of credibility, influence and leadership. We’ll be challenging men to nurture a God-honoring heart (in the secret), God-honoring relationships (in marriage and family), and then seek God-honoring fruit (in life and ministry). • Friday, March 4 at 7:00pm to Saturday, March 5 at 4:00pm • Check-in available on Friday beginning at 4:00pm. • Cost is $80 which includes lodging, 3 meals, and conference materials. • Camp Wonderland, 9241 Camp Lake Road, Camp Lake, WI 53109 Register online at https://nlccordil.infellowship.com/Forms/307464 Need help?
